Why the L-theanine number matters
L-theanine is what keeps caffeine from turning into jitters. The pairing most often cited in the research is roughly 1 part caffeine to 2 parts L-theanine. XYLO+ hits that ratio exactly at 50mg/100mg. Neuro's 40mg/60mg is 1:1.5. If a caffeine gum has ever given you the buzz and also the edge, that ratio is where to look first.
Why xylitol
XYLO+ is sweetened with xylitol. The acid-producing bacteria in your mouth cannot ferment it, so a gum you chew several times a day is not working against your teeth. That is the whole reason for the name.

Is XYLO+ a NeuroGum dupe?
It is built for the same job, caffeine plus L-theanine in a piece of sugar-free gum, with more of both actives per piece and a lower price per piece. Different company, different formula, different sweetener.
How fast does it work?
Caffeine absorbs through the lining of the cheek while you chew, so it registers in about five minutes rather than waiting on digestion. That is true of any caffeine gum, Neuro's included.
How many can I chew?
One piece is 50mg. Two is roughly a strong cup of coffee. The FDA considers up to 400mg a day fine for most healthy adults, which is eight pieces.
Does it have a coffee flavor?
Yes. That is the one thing on this page you cannot get from Neuro at all.
